Thugs attacked and beat up Oshiomhole and 14 others in Edo State

Seidu Oshiomhole, the younger brother of APC National Chairman and previous Governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole was on 18th June being yesterday attacked and beaten up alongside 14 other lawmakers-elect in the state (Edo State).

The lawmakers were apparently holding a meeting at an undisclosed area when they were struck by ruffians and thugs supposedly hired by the state government.

According to records, the meeting was necessitated by the Monday twelve o’clock at night inauguration of nine members of the new parliament and also subsequent election of Frank Okiye as speaker. It would be recalled that just 9 out of the 24-man Assembly came together to choose a speaker in what many people referred to as unconstitutional.

The continuous situation in the state assembly it was collected is an outcome of a fresh rift between the present Governor Godwin Obaseki and his predecessor, Adams Oshiomhole who reports had it singlehandedly made him Governor.

The 15 lawmakers that were reported to have been beaten have nonetheless reported the instance at the Police station. They were led by Victor Tiger Edoror, a former deputy speaker who is also targeting the leadership of the assembly.
