Andy Ruiz Jr makes U-Turn, demands 50 million Pounds for Joshua’s rematch

Andy Ruiz Jr defeated Anthony Joshua to become the world heavyweight champion in boxing. He knocked out Joshua in the 7th round to clinch the IBF, WBA and WBO championship.

Joshua has now triggered the rematch clause and the fight will likely take place in November or December.

In the rematch, Ruiz is most likely to pick up ₤10m, double his purse for his first encounter with Joshua, however he is now ready to demand for more.

This is what Ruiz told Fight Hub;

“Right now my team, they’re negotiating everything right now. I’ve just got to stay busy, stay healthy and be ready for the rematch.

“I’d love it to be here in the United States or in Mexico you know. It all depends on the team and what they negotiate.

“If they want me to go over there, they’ve got to give me $50million. If they want to come over here… It’s just negotiations you know”.
