Amechi, two others arrested, dragged to court for belonging to Eiye confraternity

Amechi, two others arrested, dragged to court for belonging to Eiye confraternity: Amechi Dukur, Totimi Johnson and Yusuf Ahmed has been arrested by the Lagos State police Command for allegedly belonging to Eiye confraternity cult group.

Amechi and his two gang friends were arraigned before Ogudu Magistrate court sitting in Lagos State.

The Lagos State Police Command has arraigned three men, Amechi Dukur, Totimi Johnson and Yusuf Ahmed before an Ogudu Magistrate court sitting in the state for allegedly belonging to Eiye confraternity.

Dukur, 25, Johnson, 18 and Ahmed, 21, are facing a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy, membership of unlawful society and breach of peace.

Addressing the court, the prosecutor, Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, said the trio, along with others still at large conspired and conducted themselves in a manner likely to cause a breach of peace.

Ihiehie informed the court that the defendants used some dangerous weapons to threaten residents of Akala in Mushin area of Lagos State on March 1, at 2.00 p.m.

The prosecuted said the offences contravened Sections 42(a) and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Against this backdrop, application for their bail was granted by Magistrate, E. Kubeinje.

Kubeinje granted them bail in the sum of N50, 000 each, with one surety each in like sum.

The Magistrate held that the sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction, be gainfully employed, and with evidence of tax payment to the Lagos State Government.

Consequently, she adjourned the matter until April 24
