Wike Alleges Plot By The Army to Cause Violence in March 9 Governorship Election

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has actually declared that the 6 Division of the Nigerian Army has actually concluded strategies to interrupt the March 9, 2019 Governorship and State Assembly elections in Rivers state.

Governor Wike stated there are strategies to stir violence in some locations within Rivers.

He stated “The 6 Division has mapped out local government areas where they will initiate violence to ensure that elections are not conducted as they did during the Presidential and National Assembly elections”.

Attending to reporters in Port Harcourt, Governor Wike alleges the Army are outlining to trigger a crisis, so that the Governorship and State Assembly elections will be cancelled. He said, that is what the 6 Division is planning to do in Rivers State.

He stated in spite of the deployment of military personnel to rig elections by the ruling APC, there are locations that some political parties can not win due to the fact that they are the fortress of the PDP.

The Governor said, there are locations that are no go areas. According to him, you don’t have to kill or eliminate people because you want to win an election. He said that innocent blood was shed due to the fact that some people wish to get 25% or they wish to please the ego of a couple of people.

Rivers State Governor stated that PDP went round the state campaigning and rallying for vote and support, which according to him, they are prepared for the election more than other parties in the state.

Wike said,  “You cannot change the will of the people. It is difficult”.

Wike thinks that he has actually restored Rivers State to its glory through enormous infrastructures, empowerment and financial advancement programs.
