Court of Appeal orders CCT to halt Justice Onnoghen trial
Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has asked the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) to stop trial of the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen till January 30th, pending the outcome of the appeal lodged before it by Justice Onneghen.
Appeal court has fixed January 30th to hear the suit brought before it by Chief Justice of Nigeria.
The Appeal court gave the ruling today 24th January. By this ruling, the code of conduct tribunal will temporarily withdraw from the case untill the court of Appeal gives it verdict on the case brought by Justice Onneghen.
Recall that the Federal government took Justice Walter Onneghen to the code of conduct tribunal for non-declaration of his assets since he assumed office in March 2017, which the Chief Justice said he forgot to declare his asset.
