Serena Williams beat Venus Williams 6-1, 6-2 to Cruise to 4th Round

Serena Williams beats her elder sister Venus Williams 6-1 6-2 in the US open on Friday. This is the 30th times the two sisters are meeting. The match was attended by celebrities across United State of America, who came out to watch the two sisters who are now seen as legends in the sports.

This is the last Grand Slam for the year and Serena is trying to make history by winning the Grand Slam 24 times. If she does, she will be the second female player to have won the Grand Slam 24 times along side Margaret Court.

This was a smooth win over Venus by Serena who have dominated her sister 18-12 since their first match in 1998.

Serena who is 36 years old told the crowd, “It’s not easy, she’s my best friend and she means the world to me. She’s supportive of me, and I’m supportive of her. Every time she loses I feel I lose, too. But we all know that there’s a whole lot more to life than tennis. I love her with all my heart and she’s the reason I’m here, and Jehovah after God, I owe everything to her.”

Serena will now play Estonian Kaia Kanepi today, 2nd of September to mark the round of 16 of the U.S open
