Salisu Yusuf Banned for One Year

Assistant coach of the Super Eagles Salisu Yusuf has been banned for one year from football activities for collecting bribe from players in return for favour.

The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) handed the ban to the coach after launching an intensive investigation on the video footage that went viral, where undercover reporters posed as football agents to bribe the Super Eagles coach.

Assistant coach of the Super Eagles, Salisu Yusuf was also asked to pay a fine of $5,000 to NFF account within three months time.

The viral video footage that indicted Mr Salisu Yusuf went live September 2017. The video was captured by a known Ghanian journalist Aremeyaw Anas. In the video Super Eagle assistant coach, Salisu Yusuf was seen receiving $1000 to pick players for CHAN 2018 tournament. The agents who set him up also promised to give him 15% more if the deal went successful and they succeeded in sealing a deal abroad.

Yusuf, who was a former Kanu Pillars coach will not participate in any football related games for a period of one year.
