While speaking to members of the House of Representatives Ad-Hoc Committee on the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB), Governor Nyesom Wike stated that oil producing communities in Nigeria have suffered untold hardship.
He also used the medium to urge lawmakers to ensure that the bill sorts out critical issues so there will be no problem after it is passed.
Niger-Delta environment has been polluted as a result of crude oil exploration operations, threats by militant groups to commence bombing of pipelines and it is easier for those outside to criticize easily the only and lasting solution is the bill and I urged the committee to put the region into consideration as they conclude on the bill. He said
Wike expressed his confidence in the chairman of the committee and trust the committee will do an excellent job.
