Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, will not sit back and watch PDP fill in Atiku as the party’s presidential candidate in 2019, Dr. Umar Ardo former Special Assistant to ex-Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, on Local Government and State Affairs, said so.
Mr. Ardo, who was also appointed as Special Assistant on Research and Strategy to former President, Obasanj in 2003 said Atiku, a chieftain of the ruling All Progressive Congress( APC), has hands on deck to return to PDP.
But Atiku’s current Media Adviser, Paul Ibe said it is not maturity at all to false fully accuse a man who is not a part or member of a party of plotting to amend the party’s structure.
In a discussion with newsmen yesterday in Abuja, Ardo, said Atiku’s return to the party especially as an ex-presidential aspirant will raise dust as well as unfavorable conditions in the party because there are others in the party who has shown interest or nursing the ambition and would not fold their hands and watch him kill their ambition.
Following a petition dated November 5, 2017, and addressed to the Chairman, Adamawa State PDP State Congress Appeal Panel, Ardo called for the cancellation of the congresses held last week in the state and also gave reasons why Atiku’s return would not be a welcomed decision.
“I think I will conclude that PDP will be better off without Atiku coming back,” he added.
