Dr. Nwachukwu Orji, the Anambra state Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), said no election material was missing.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) also seconded this statement in a report that sensitive materials meant for November 18, 2017, election were not moved by security personnel to any hotel as alleged by Chief Victor Oye, of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).
On close examination and comparison of register recovered by police and the one meant for the election on the 18th of November in Anambra state governorship election, it is obvious that what the police has was not the official register of voters for the governorship election but a print out from the electronic register given to the political parties. Anambra Resident Electoral Commissioner went on to say that the issue on ground is not true but a mix up of information.
INEC commissioner used the medium to appeal to all parties involved to always confirm information before taking it to the public. According to him, such act can disrupt the existing peace in the state ahead of the election.
INEC is very much ready as the date for the Anambra election is still on the 18th of November.
