Nigerian Troops Rescue 212 Boko Haram Captives and Captured One Commander

The Director of Army Public Relations Brig. – Gen. Sani Usman, on Tuesday, revealed to newsmen that 212 persons who have been held hostage by the terrorists after they cleared remnants of insurgents from some villages in the northern fringes of the Sambisa forest have been rescued.

One member of the Boko Haram commander, “Ameer” of Chawa, Amman Judee was captured and was currently undergoing interrogation while the rescued persons were being taken care of and children administered oral polio vaccines.

During clearance operations in 8 villages at Bama Local Government Area of Borno earlier in this week, the troops rescued thirty persons held hostage.
