Majority of Igbos will Vote for Buhari in 2019 – Orji Uzor

Orji Uzor Kalu, former Abia State governor has said in an interview with Arise TV, that majority of Igbos will vote for Buhari in 2019 general election.

He said the Igbos will support Buhari in 2019 so as to produce an Igbo President after him. He said if Buhari wins in 2019, nobody will say the South-East region cannot produce the president. Kalu acknowledge that the Igbos did not vote for Buhari in 2015 but in 2019 they will massively vote for him so that an Igbo man will stand the chance of becoming president in Nigeria after the expiration of Buhari’s tenure.

Orji Uzor Kalu who defected from (PPA) Progressive People Alliance to join the ruling APC has said that his presence in APC will add value to the party in the south-east region. He gave Buhari’s intergrity as his major reason for joining the ruling party.

Mixed reactions trail Orji Kalu’s insinuation that the Igbos will vote massively for President Buhari in 2019. Some of the people interviewed said that majority of people in the south-east will not vote for President Buhari because they see him as enemy of the Igbos. Some people cited the IPOB issue as reason why Igbos will not vote massively for Buhari. According to them, IPOB has majority of supporters in the south-east region of the country, which with block vote will vote against Buhari. A man who identified himself as Obinna said that Dr Orji Uzor Kalu is a political contractor seeking for what they will gain. That Kalu himself know that the truth is the opposite of what he said.
