Ebonyi State to be a food basket of the Nation – Obasanjo

Olusegun Obasanjo yesterday expressed faith that Federal Government Zero Hunger program will transform Ebonyi state into an important food basket in the country.

During the 2nd meeting of Nigeria Zero Hunger Forum held at the International Conference Centre, ICC, Abakaliki. The spokesperson Olusegun Obasanjo stated clearly that the primary aim of this program was to improve to a certain level the standard of living through agricultural programme and activities.

Obasanjo said that the aim of zero hunger is to make sure that plans required to take us to promise land are carried out by both Federal and state government. The idea is to make Ebonyi State important food silo of Nigeria by correcting all the wrongs and enhancing all the right.

David Umahi, governor of Ebonyi State was positive that the Zero Hunger policy of the government will be a success but the people of the state must change their attitude.
