Don’t reject patients with gunshot injuries – Ipalibo Banigo Tells Private Health Facilities in Rivers State

Rivers State deputy governor Dr. (Mrs) Ipalibo Harry Banigo has expressed dismay over incessant death resulting from the rejection of patients with gunshot injuries by private health facilities in the State.

Ipalibo Banigo, who is a medical doctor express the displeasure in reaction to the death of one Christopher Ojika who was shot by an unknown assailant in the Ikoku axis of Port Harcourt and was rejected by several private clinics. The deputy governor in a statement by the head of press unit in her office said the Federal government has already directed Doctors to treat emergencies including gunshot victims who are waiting for Police clearance in other to save lives.

She called on the leadership of the Nigerian Medical Association as well as the association of general and private medical practitioners of Nigeria to sensitize their members on the need to save lives.
