A meeting is currently ongoing between the leaders of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Aso rock. The delegation was led by the association’s president, Rev. Samson Ayokunle just this morning.
It is a private meeting from all indications and the Christian leaders in the delegation include Primate Nicholas Okoh, Rev. Dr Benebo Fubara Manuel, Bishop Francis Wale Oke and Bishop Stephen Adegbite.
Officials in attendance are Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, National Security Adviser, Maj. Gen. Babagana Monguno and Head of Service of the Federation, Mrs Winifred Oyo-Ita. Cabinet members, as well as recently-appointed Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), were all present.
As a way of balancing, Mr President will also be having a meeting with some representatives of the Muslim community on Friday.
