FG Convert Fela’s Family House To Heritage Museum

Ogun State government, in joint venture with the Federal Government has officially transformed the family house of Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo Kuti in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital into a museum. The family house of Fela Kuti was named ‘Heritage Museum’ by Minister of information, culture and tourism, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, who arrive the family house with Governor Ibikunle Amosun, Ogun State Governor.

The family house, which had been deserted for long was wearing a new and better look yesterday due to the renovation of the deteriorated twin-building. While speaking with newsmen, the Minister, lauded initiative with a pledge to partner with the state government in completing the project. He said the renovation and preservation of the family house was very symbolic at a time when the 20th anniversary of Fela’s death is being celebrated, adding that the project will be a model and inspiration to youths.
